How to buy Machu Picchu tickets in 2023?

There are 3 ways to buy a Machu Picchu ticket: in person at an authorized office in Cusco, through the official website, or from an authorized travel agency.

1. Online

Visit the Ministry of Culture’s official website at: www.machupicchu.gob.pe. Be warned that the site is not always working and could sometimes be hard or unfeasible to buy your permit online.

2. Book your tickets when you arrive in Cusco

Official Offices in Cusco:

  • Option 1: Go to the ‘Direccion Regional de Cultura’ office with your passport at Street Garcilaso s/n.
  • Option 2: Go to Maruri Street 324, located a few meters from the Main Square of Cusco City.

Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 07:00 – 19:00. This option is riskier in peak season when permits are overbooked.

3. Book your ticket with a tour operator

The easiest, safest, and best way to buy Machu Picchu permits is through an authorized travel agency. You just need to send a copy of your passport and the date of the visit. One of the most recommended agencies is AB Expeditions. You can contact them via WhatsApp +51976510080.
