There are many ways to visit the top 10 UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu. I am lucky to have a wonderful friend who picked AB Expedition (local travel agent) for our trip to visit the ancient capital of Inca Empire, which included three days of Cusco and four days of classic Inca Trail. The owner of AB Expedition, Abel and our guide David, cook Charlie and many porters are wonderful and knowledgeable to help us create a lot of lifetime experiences and memorable moments on the journey. If physical condition allows, I highly recommend you do the same.

While I can't take the credit for choosing AB expeditions for my trip, I am so glad that we went with them on the Inca trail! On the night before the trip we were given our duffel bags and some advice on what to bring with us on the trail and were given an Inca Trail map and an explanation of the schedule. (They also reviewed the plan for the next day at dinner every evening). I loved that we were introduced to all our porters, cook, and assistant cook, so that when we saw them on the trail, even if we didn't remember all their names we could say hello. The whole group was fun and our cook, Charlie, was amazing. Aside from providing so many different types of dishes, he also taught us a few Quechua phrases!
