CUSCO CITY TOUR ITINERARY
Option A: Cusco City Tour In The Morning
Our tour of Cusco city begins at 8:00 AM with a pickup from your hotel. We will first visit the Inca site of Saqsaywaman, where we will spend approximately an hour exploring the site. Following this, we will proceed to Qenqo, where we will examine the site and our guide will provide detailed explanations of its functions. Our journey will continue to Tambomachay and Pucapucara, where we will visit and receive further explanations about these sites.
On our return to Cusco, we will make stops in the neighborhoods of 7 Borreguitos and Sapantiana for some excellent photo opportunities. We will then continue to the main square to visit the Cathedral and Qoricancha. Our final stop will be San Pedro Market, after which we will transfer you back to your hotel.
Option B: Cusco City Tour In The Afternoon
We come to pick you up at your hotel at 1.30 pm. we will first visit the center of Cusco, having with us a professional English-speaking guide. First, he will present the Cathedral (built in a Baroque style and having paintings of the Cusqueña school) and the temple of Coricancha, more known as Golden Palace (A place which we will enjoy in all its enchantment such as, the temple of the Thunder, moon, Lightning, Rainbow, Stars and the temple of Santo Domingo). Then we will visit Sacsayhuaman, located on a mountain overlooking Cusco.
Following we will set course to Qenqo, also known as the Labyrinth. This temple dedicated to Mother Earth is a unique center of celebrations and astronomical studies. Later on, we’ll visit Pucapucara, This complex contains several rooms, inner plazas, aqueducts, vantage points, and pathways. Last we will go to the archeological site of Tambomachay.

- The General Cusco Tourist Ticket
This Tourist Ticket for Cusco allows you to visit 16 tourist sites in the Cusco area. If you want to see ruins in both Cusco and the Sacred Valley, the best choice is the full “General Boleto Turistico.” The ticket costs 130 Soles (about $36 USD), with a student price of 70 Soles (about $20 USD). It is valid for 10 days.
- Partial Cusco Tourist Ticket.
The Partial Cusco Tourist Ticket is valid for just one day. It lets you visit only inca sites in Cusco, including Sacsaywaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay. This ticket is not available for students or minors. If you only want to see the city tour and not the Sacred Valley or Maras Moray, this is the best choice for you. It costs 70 soles (about $20 USD).
- Qoricancha Ticket
A direct entry ticket to the Coricancha costs 20 soles (about US $6). University students with a valid ID pay 10 soles (around US $3). Children under 10 years old get in for free.
- Cathedral Ticket
To visit the Cathedral, you’ll need to buy a Religious Circuit Ticket. This ticket also lets you visit the Cathedral, San Blas Temple, Archbishop’s Museum, and San Cristobal Temple. For adults, the ticket costs S/. 40 ($12 USD). For students or children, it costs S/. 13.50 ($4.00 USD).

- You can book the city tour at the last minute, but during the busy season (May, June, July, and August), it’s best to book at least a week ahead because we might run out of guides. However, there are always tickets available.
- You can buy bottled water at any stop during the whole city tour.
- Tours leave every day if you have a group of 2 or more people.
- No departures on June 24 due to the Intiraymi festival.
- The order of the places we visit might change based on the weather, and we might start the tour in Cusco or outside the city.
- Bring cash to buy tourist tickets because credit cards are not accepted on-site.
Pro Tips
- When you get to Cusco, don’t start exploring the city immediately. You should rest at the hotel for at least 2 hours to adjust to the high altitude.
- Even during the dry season, be ready for rain. Getting wet can make your trip uncomfortable.

Strike and Demonstrations
Strikes and protests are common in the Cusco region, and they can block roads. For your safety, we often cancel trips when this happens. If we cancel, we will refund all your money.
Physical Requirements
The city tour is quite simple and doesn’t require you to be in top physical condition. It mostly involves walking on flat ground. There are a few steps along the way, but if you prefer, you can skip those areas and wait for the group in the van.
