Waqrapukara: It is a new and recently promoted tourist attraction in Cusco located in Acomayo Province above 4,000m (13,123ft), Waqrapukara has not been deciphered yet and it can be considered as a fortress, a sanctuary or an astronomical observatory. It was initially built by the Quinchas and then by the conquerors, the Incas. CUSCO – ACOMAYO – WAQRAPUKARA – CUSCO:
We will pick you up from your hotel at 05:00 am and we will drive about 2.5 hrs to Acomayo province where we will enjoy four lagoons of Acomayo. After enjoying the view, we continue for 30 more minutes to Qenterococha Lagoon (4,330 mts 14,138 fts) where we will have a delicious breakfast. After our notricious breakfast we will start our hike to Waqrapukara complex. In our way, we will be able to identify the flora and wildlife of the area. Once we get to the first view point of Waqrapukara, we will take a break then we continue until we get our goal. Once we reach to this amazing place we will rest, then we will explore the place with your guide. Our english speaking will explain you more information about this place. Of course, you will also have the time to explore the place by yourself after your guided tour and take pictures. Ourboxlunch we will eat on the viewpoint of Apuririmac River viewpoint. After the meal, we will start to hike back. But we will take a different way which is easier and also has different views of the Apurimac Canyon and abysses. We will get back to the trailhead about 16:00 hrs where our private van is waiting for us. We will be back to Cusco about 19:00.

WHAT WE RECOMMEND TO BRING:
- 1 Liter and half of the water (per person- at least!).
- Personal snacks (optional).
- Water-resistant trekking shoes.
- Warm clothing (thermal underwear, flece, hat, gloves, and socks).
- Waterproof clothing (poncho).
- Synthetic or cotton clothing (socks, trousers, shorts, t-shirts).
- Sunhat and sunglasses.
- Sun cream.
- Water bottles such as Nalgene.
- Basic medications.
- Walking sticks.
- Personal items.
If you have reserved the service with your old Passport and then you have renewed it and obtained another, you most likely will have a different passport number. Please let us know so we can update this information. This modification has to be made prior to your trip to Peru (at least 10 days before your trip). As soon as you have your new passport please inform AB Expeditions of this change. Otherwise, this update or modification will have an additional fee of USD 12.00 and it will create a big inconvenience to update it at the last minute.
If you do not bring your passport, you won’t be allowed in the trail. Also, if you bring your new passport and failed to inform us and this information was not updated, you won’t be allowed in the Inca Trail or Machu Picchu.
Those passengers who booked their trip using the discounted price for Student Holders must bring their original and valid student card (not a copy and not expired). This document must be shown at the Inca Trail Control Gate. Unfortunately, if you do not bring your card, you will be denied entry to the Inca Trail as the permits won’t be valid without your card.
